Deborah Martin's syrup recipe

Here is our family's recipe for syrup. This is the way I have made it for 20+ years.

Syrup
Small amount:
1/3 c brown sugar
2/3 cup white sugar
½ cup water
pinch salt
1 teaspoon vinegar

Large amount:
1 lb brown sugar
4 cup white sugar
4 cup water
¼ t salt
2 Tablespoon vinegar
Cook “pretty high” until a “little” drip doesn’t take too long.
You can add one package of frozen blackberries to the large amount while cooking to make delicious blackberry syrup.
